OMG! Think you've got an issue with what to wear for that

upcoming wedding you've been invited as a guest - spare a thought for the MOG and MOB! Mothers-OF-Groom (MOG) and Mothers-OF-Bride (MOB) are often overlooked in the whirlwind of wedding preparations. There is a special mention needed for the women whose role isn't (traditionally) to walk someone down the aisle or take care of the rings, but stand and be judged on choice of outfit for their son or daughter's most important day.
There are a few fashion etiquette rules which apply:
- MOBs and MOGs should not wear the same outfit.
- MOB and MOG colour choice should complement, not clash, with the bridesmaid and wedding decor.
- MOB and MOG outfits should not cost more than the bride's.
For famous Mother-of-Brides, these rules don’t always apply.

Above: (L) The Kardashians all seemed to pick the something from the wedding gown rack at Vera Wang. Is it any wonder it didn’t work? ( R) Modern MOB – Sofia Vergara as the young Step-Mother-in-Law, in swimsuit style during a family wedding vow renewal in Hawaii.
At Frockaholics, we know what MOGs and MOBs look great in. We've broken it down into a few motherly types.
For the mother in law that is already a style icon in her daughter (or son's) eyes, Trelise Cooper is a smart choice with playful prints and inspirational from icons the likes of Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and Lauren Bacall.

ABOVE: (L) Trelise Cooper Silk Dress $AUD745 (R) Trelise Cooper Suit Separates from $AUD355 to $AUD595.
For the fun-loving, youthful, outdoor wedding where the MOG gets mistaken for a sibling, it is certainly Hale Bob.

ABOVE: (L and R) Hale Bob Maxi $AUD429. (C) Hale Bob Tunic $AUD349
And for the woman too-young-to-be-a-grandmother, but deep down waiting for this moment since her kids started high school - Moss & Spy offer a range that is a sound choice for front row ceremony seating.

ABOVE: Moss & Spy Chocolate Aqua Tweed Suit $AUD695
Sacha Drake is an Australian label with the feminine form in mind. With styles suiting pear, hourglass and column shapes - even maternity, these are flattering styles in classic colours and classy prints.

ABOVE: Sacha Drake Dress $AUD239.
